If you own a domestic property, be it a family or rental home, it’s likely one of the largest investments you will ever make. If you’re a business owner, the ongoing safety and functionality of your premises is vital to your company’s ongoing success. Many aspects of property maintenance come together to keep homes and places of business in optimal condition, but roofing services are among the most important. A fully operational roof protects your property, and everything inside it, from the damaging effects of the elements.
Based in Leigh, LDM Slate Roofing provides a complete range of services in the domestic and commercial sectors. From Bolton to Wigan, and Bury to St Helens, property owners in Greater Manchester and across North West England trust our roofers for complete roof care.

Please note, our roofers undertake roof repairs on all structures and materials. We also provide services for flat, rubber and slate roofing. These each have their own dedicated page on our website’s menu. Please navigate to the respective page for more details about the service(s) your require.

New Roofs, Roof Replacements and Reroofs
While these services may sound similar in nature, they are not interchangeable terms for the same work.
New roofs refer to the structures our roofers assemble from scratch for new builds. Typical examples include houses, extensions and commercial properties.
Roof replacements involve existing properties whose current roofing structure is damaged, failing and generally beyond repair. This encompasses all aspects of the roof, from the decks, rafters and joists to the external covering. In such cases, we carry out the necessary replacement work.
Reroofs focus only on your current property’s roofing material. We can strip away damaged tiles and slate roofing in cases of localised damage for a partial reroof. Alternatively, if your roof is old and repairs simply represent a false economy, we perform full reroofing.
Fascias, Soffits and Gutters
Known collectively as the roofline, your property’s fascias, soffits and guttering provide essential rainwater runoff management. This system channels water away from the roof as quickly as possible, while also creating a sealed barrier around the exposed timbers of your roof’s overhang.
Without a functional roofline system, your property is at greater risk of water ingress. In turn, this increases the chances of damp, rot and mould in your attic or loft space.
We supply and fix timber and uPVC replacement products. If you use our company’s reroofing service, you receive new guttering free of charge.
Dry Ridge Systems
These systems allow our roofers to attach ridge and hip tiles using screws and clamps instead of sand or cement mortar. Each screw has a waterproof union beneath it which directs water away from the join.
When compared with traditional ridge systems, this approach involves much less labour. The results also require less maintenance, especially in regard to mortar replacement. With improved ventilation, your roof also has better protection against condensation and associated problems.
Our Leigh-based team performs chimney repairs and repointing in Greater Manchester and around the North West. By keeping your chimney in good condition, you maintain your home’s external appearance while minimising the chances of crumbling brickwork and mortar. By eliminating the latter, you also lower the risk of roof damage, gutter blockages and personal injury due to falling materials.
Leadwork, or flashing, provides an extra layer of waterproofing and weatherproofing for your property in Bolton, St Helens, Wigan or the surrounding areas. Because lead has a malleable nature, we shape it to suit your roof’s contours. LDM Slate Roofing fits leadwork around vulnerable junctions in your roof’s structure, including dormers and chimneys. We also lay it in box gutters and valleys.
Velux Window Installation
Have you earmarked your loft for a home office? Or are you looking to create a hobby room or additional bedroom? Whatever your plans, our roofers install Velux windows into your roof’s existing slope, filling your loft with natural light.
